Cisco CCNP, Ekahau ECSE, Studying for CWNP…
I have been working in IT for over 15 years, starting off in IT support and then progressing to be a network engineer supporting and installing Cisco LAN/WAN networks. During this time I became interested in deploying and working with wireless technology. I started off by working on a large project to migrate over 20 sites from Autonomous to Cisco Light Weight access points and configured on the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller. This was an interesting migration that was not without its challenges.
Like the majority of people that work on wired networks I thought I knew how to install and configure wireless networks and how they were meant to be installed. It wasn’t until I attended a wireless design course Ekahau ESCE that my eyes were opened and it was then that I realised that up till now I had been doing most of it all wrong!
So I decided I wanted to improve and started on my CWNP journey to improve my wireless skills and knowledge. This is where this blog comes in, as I continue to learn I want to record it primarly for my own knowledge and to save me from searching for the same information again. Also if you happen to stumble across this site then it may also be of some use to you too.
